Physics Education Courses & Curriculum
The Physics Education major will develop your mathematical, modeling, computational and lab skills necessary to be a successful teacher. The program requires you to fulfill all teacher licensure requirements in addition to the core physics courses. Related requirements include courses in chemistry and mathematics, with recommended electives in biology and geosciences. The Physics Education degree will prepare you for licensure in high school physics. You have the option of adding a middle school (grades 5-8) science license.
If you want to improve your employability, a minor in a related STEM field (Mathematics, Geoscience, Chemistry or Biology) or a minor or certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, is an excellent add on to your program.
