Film Studies
Do you consider yourself a film buff? Expand your cinema knowledge even further by pursuing a degree in Film Studies at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Delve into film criticism, history and theory, and gain a superior understanding of countless genres, directors and adaptions. You’ll also become actively involved in community film projects and festivals.
Film Studies students are required to take at least one production class. By doing so, you’ll gain a new perspective for conducting film analysis.
You’ll study film history, film theory and media criticism, along with international cinema, film appreciation, adaptations, director studies and genre studies. The vast amount of material covered will help open your eyes to the widespread world of film.
Apply what you’ve learned through active involvement in community film projects, such as campus film festival programming, the Fargo Film Festival and community production projects.
