MSUM’s 30-year history of offering entertainment-related programs began in music industry and has evolved into Audio Production and Entertainment Management. We’ve continually responded to the needs of our students in relation to the direction the industry is moving. Our award-winning faculty bring years of relevant experience to their teaching and are actively involved in music, event, post production, and entertainment management.
You’ll have the opportunity to experience state-of-the-art recording facilities and performing spaces as early as your freshman year through your studies, participation in student organizations, and mentorship by experienced faculty.
You’ll find that your classroom education is always reinforced by the vast array of hands-on training opportunities you receive through participation in productions across campus and in our recording facilities.
MSUM is the only program in the region to offer this type of well-rounded degree. It’s also one of very few degree programs in the world that emphasizes the study of the entertainment industry. Performers and non-performers alike work together and thrive in the Audio Production and Technology program because it is designed for anyone with a passion for any facet in the entertainment field regardless of background.
Through dynamic partnerships with the Paseka School of Business and the School of Performing Arts, you will take courses in related areas that focus on your unique career preparation in entertainment.

Sierra is an MSUM senior majoring in commercial music and entertainment industries and technology. She can play the euphonium, bassoon, tenor sax, violin, guitar, trumpet, French horn, clarinet, keyboard, string bass and more. On her way to becoming a film composer, Sierra is a multi-talented performer who continually embraces new challenges in the realm of music.
