Digital content creator makes community impact in Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo

Sara Hand has continued to shine as a leader, mentor, advocate and storyteller since being selected as "One to Watch" by the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo Chamber's Young Professional Network (YPN). That's why she has also been selected as Minnesota State Moorhead's 10 Under 10 award recipient. In addition to managing communications and creating social media content at Cass County Electric Cooperative, Sara is now chair of the YPN. The broadcast journalism graduate used her storytelling skills to pioneer an agricultural vlog series at Steffes Group, Inc. Their feature on Farm in the Dell in Moorhead secured the community group a $20,000 grant, demonstrating how strategic storytelling can lead to a tangible community impact.  

She also recently participated in the FMWF Leadership program, where she developed and implemented a video initiative to support English language learners in the community, aligning her professional capabilities with meaningful social impact. "Having this project selected and brought to life reinforced my belief in using marketing skills to address community needs," she says.

Sara's advocacy extends beyond her passion for digital storytelling and social media in her professional work. Her skills and leadership touch a personal chord as she mentors individuals navigating fertility treatments, connecting them with medical resources, and helping them understand their options and rights.

She says, "My most profound impact has emerged from transforming personal challenges into community support. By courageously sharing my infertility journey and creating educational content through my YouTube channel, I've built a supportive community for others facing similar struggles."
