What experience at MSUM had the greatest influence in transforming your life?

A multitude of experiences during my time at MSUM transformed me, including advisors who kept me on track to graduate in four years while enjoying offerings through Tri-College University, two winters on student exchange at Montana State University and a relevant business internship.

What professional experience has had the greatest influence in shaping you as a leader?

The opportunity to join other leaders in community efforts. I try to learn something from everyone I come in contact with.

What is the greatest challenge of leadership in today’s work force?

Today’s leadership challenge is making sure our team understands that all employees play a role in the success of the organization. I have had the opportunity to work in several great communities. Communities don’t prosper by accident; they recognize that leaders come in all shapes, sizes and occupations. The communities that are thriving give citizens a chance to develop their leadership skills.

What do you enjoy most about being a leader?

Positive results, creating change (making things happen) and making a difference in our customer’s lives.

As a leader, what is the most important thing you do every day?

I stay engaged and look for opportunities to support the communities we operate in.

What advice would you give someone striving to improve their leadership skills?

Spend time with people you admire, volunteer, stay tuned into reputable news sources and never stop learning. I have learned a lot recently working with the United Way and The Chamber.
