Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Scott Forster

Scott Forster is MSUM's new head women's soccer coach.

Q:What drew you to MSUM?
A: I have had the chance to build a DII soccer program in West Virginia from scratch. To move on from that was going to take something special, and I’m beyond blessed to have had the chance to visit the campus and connect with the school during the interview process. There’s huge potential here and I think my skill set supports that.

Q: How do you prefer to start your workday?
A: I survive on coffee and wins. I take an early morning shower and have a reflection on five things I can do to get a win today.

Q: If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?
A: I love GeniusScan for document scanning and sharing, Waze for navigation and Strava for tracking hikes/bike rides.

Q: What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
A: My Grandpa used to say, “Today’s News is tomorrow’s chip shop wrappers”, which I guess translates to the highs or lows of today will be irrelevant tomorrow so try not to worry.

Q: What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
A: Watching soccer or scouting. The good thing about being a coach is that it’s a passion, not a profession. On a true day off I might be wilderness hiking.

Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
A: Traveling to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup was truly crazy and awesome rolled into one.
