Online Social Work Provisional Admission
Students who do not meet admission requirements may apply for Provisional Admission (PA). Provisional applicants must work with their academic School of Social Work advisor (or the BSW Program Director - only if you do not have an assigned School of Social Work advisor) to develop a plan to meet all admission requirements; then they may proceed to formally applying to BSW Online program.
Special Note: Provisional Admission is not guaranteed.
Required Steps in seeking Provisional Admission
To be considered for Provisional Admission, the applicant must complete the following steps:
- Develop a clear understanding of why she/he is not eligible for full admission;
- Meet with her/his/their SW advisor or the BSW Program Director (only if you do not have an assigned advisor) to develop a plan to meet all admission requirements;
- Reach an agreement with your advisor (or program director) that the action plan is suitable for PA;
- Submit the plan along with the BSW Online application;
- PA request will be considered in the admission review approval process;
- The faculty advisor will monitor student progress during term advising;
All students with Provisional Acceptance must meet all of the School of Social Work major requirements before interning.
